NALGONDA : The three slain naxals Boda Sailu (29), Sita Nagesh (17) and Basapaka Devamma (18) were cremated at their village, Tirumalagiri in Pedda Adisarlapally mandal by their family members on Tuesday. The police handed over the bodies to their parents at Kamala Nehru Hospital in Nagarjunasagar after post mortem in the afternoon. As a foul smell was emanating from the bodies, their family members performed the last rites without any delay. There was no police deployment at the village.
Warpath
A pall of gloom descended on the village following the killing of three naxals from the village in the hands of the police. The villagers told reporters that Boda Sailu alias Kurmaiah, Commander, Kanagal Special Guerilla Squad, had motivated other youngsters to take the warpath against the elected Government. They recalled that Sailu had visited their village during the peace talks between the Maoists and the Congress Government and went into jungles later. Police sources said that the body of Ghanamuri Shankar alias Vinay alias Somayya (20), who hailed from Manthani Gourelli in Ranga Reddy district, was also handed over to his family members. The police stepped up combing operation to take advantage of the situation arisen out of the death of Kurmaiah, who had been wreaking havoc in the area for the last eight years.
