At times, SMS definitely brings cheer. Some of these messages also irritate, or even look ridiculous, with all the out-of-earth offers. A Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) mobile-phone service customer had a most interesting offer on Tuesday. He was asked to forward a message to 10 people to get free talk-time for Rs. 350, Tuesday being the anniversary day of BSNL's wireless communication! The message said: "Today is BSNL's 11th anniversary of wireless communication; please transfer this message to 10 BSNL subscribers and get free talk time of Rs. 350." However, BSNL officials were amused to hear about it. "Well, whoever sent this message has not got all the facts correct about BSNL," said a senior official. For all those who fell for that game probably lost Rs. 10 on forwarding the message, while the service provider sits happy with all the SMS traffic.
