ERODE: Half-a-sovereign gold for thali to daughters of farmers enrolled under the Uzhavar Padukappu Thittam, as announced by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, will help farmers, said actor-turned-politician R. Sarathkumar.
Free rice
Campaigning in Periya Agraharam on Tuesday for the AIADMK candidate for Erode, E.R. Sivakumar, he said providing 10 kg free rice in Public Distribution Scheme outlets would also help the needy. Confident that the AIADMK would form the Government in Tamil Nadu again, he said Ms. Jayalalithaa would fulfil her all her election promises.
Development works
He took part in the election meetings in Ramanathapurampudur, Kalingarayanpalayam, Chitode, Veerappanchatram and Erode, where he detailed the development works the State Government carried out in the last five years in the State.
`Step-motherly treatment'
He charged the Union Government with `step-motherly treatment' for the State. Though the Centre failed to grant funds to Tamil Nadu for flood relief, the Chief Minister spent funds from the State Government.
