CHENNAI: Personnel from paramilitary forces along with local police conducted flag marches in three police districts in the city on Tuesday. According to police, the march began around 9.45 a.m. in the Washermanpet police district. Moolakothalam, Stanley Nagar, KNS Depot, Netaji Nagar, Vaidyanathan Bridge, Tiruvottiyur High Road, Kummallamman Koil Street, G.A. Road, Cemetery Road and Mint area. In Washermanpet police district two constituencies R.K. Nagar and Royapuram were covered in the flag march. Later, the team moved to the neighbouring police district, Pulianthope. There the flag march started from Basin Bridge and passed through K.P. Park, Pulianthope High Road, Kannigapuram, Ganeshapuram, MPM Street, Sathyamurthy Nagar, B.V. Colony, Kalyanapuram, Kodungaiyur, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, Peravallur, Perambur Barracks Road and culminated on Paper Mills Road, Perambur. Five constituencies were covered in the Pulianthope police district, which included parts of Egmore, Park Town, Perambur, Purasawalkam and Tiruvottiyur. Later the team conducted a flag march in Kilpauk police district. The flag march was conducted to instil confidence in the minds of people and to complete the poll process peacefully, said officers. Jawans from the Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Karnataka State Reserve Police and local police took part in the march.
