Tension after bodies are found

Staff Correspondent

TUMKUR: There was tension in Hanumanahalli in Madhugiri taluk of Tumkur district on Tuesday after the kin of a woman and her son, whose bodies were found in the well earlier in the day, staged a protest against the alleged failure of the police to arrest the woman's husband, his father and brother. They did not allow the bodies to be buried.

The woman's relatives, who arrived from her native village, Chinnenahalli in Sira taluk, and the locals charged the police with trying to cover up the case by registering a case of unnatural death.

They alleged that the woman and her son were murdered by her husband and his family.

The police, who identified the woman as Rangamma, wife of Shankarappa, said the situation was under control.
