GUNTUR: A slight improvement in the pass percentage of the final year degree courses (1.38 per cent) compared to last year was witnessed in the results declared by the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) authorities on Tuesday.

ANU Vice-Chancellor V. Balamohandas formally released the results of B.A, B.Com, B.Com (Voc), B.Com (Res) B.Sc and B.C.A. courses for all three years. However, the results of B.BM and B.O.L courses were withheld due to some technical problems. They would be declared on Wednesday, he said. The results of a few candidates from P.N.C.A. Degree College at Singarayakonda, S.K.B.R. College in Narsaraopet and Datta Sai College in Cheemakurthi were also withheld and would be announced later. The results are put up on the website www.nagarjunauniversity.ac.in. Candidates can also get information about their marks from the website. They need not wait for the original marks list to apply for revaluation and can apply to their college principals after attaching a marks sheet downloaded from the website on or before May 10.

"The pass percentage of final year students has gone up to 42.20 per cent compared to the last year's 40.82 per cent. There is a decline in the actual number of students who have appeared for this year's examinations, compared to the last year," Prof. Balamohandas said.

Girls fared better than boys in all the courses. The highest success rate of 66.66 per cent was witnessed in B.Com (vocational) course while the lowest rate of 31.57 percent was observed in the BCA course.

    First division

Of the total 43,385 candidates who appeared for all the courses, 18,523 passed with 10,926 first divisions, 4,460 second divisions and 3,137 third divisions.

He commended the examination wing of ANU for working hard to come out with the results in accordance with the academic calendar. Rector Y.R. Haragopal Reddy, Registrar K.V. Rao, Additional Controller of Examinations T. Pamulu and other ANU officials were present.
