HYDERABAD : The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday demanded a judicial inquiry into the allotment of land in Mahbubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts for different organisations, companies and individuals by the Government. Party senior leader Ch. Vidyasagar Rao said the inquiry could look into whether the land allotted was used for the purpose it was given for and if not, recommend that the Government take it back. Thousands of acres of assigned land, given to poorer sections of society, was yet to reach actual beneficiaries, he alleged.
Sons of the soil
Assigned lands apart, lands belonging to farmers were being acquired for allotment to different companies, thus disrupting the lives of sons of the soil, he said. It was time the Government chalked out a concrete policy on land, he said.
Telangana issue
If the Government was not prepared to order a judicial inquiry, it should at least come up with an action plan to deal with the situation firmly, he opined. On the Telangana issue, the need of the hour was for all concerned to come together on a single platform and properly communicate the actual position to people, he said.
