Timex introduces new collection

To set up unit in Himachal Pradesh; to invest close to Rs. 25 cr. for brand promotion

NEW DELHI: Timex Watches on Tuesday unveiled the new Timex 2006 international collection, besides announcing the launch of its new brand campaign `Timex-What Next?'

``Post our successful financial turnaround last year, we are looking at significantly scaling up investments behind both brand and business, and the new campaign is a major step in that direction,'' Timex Asia Managing Director and Vice-President, Kapil Kapoor, told reporters here.

Timex brand ambassador and Australian speedster, Brett Lee, who unveiled the collection here, said, "the new collection will definitely find favour with the young, the sporty and the cool." The collection has over 40 styles.

The company is in talks for distributing `Esprit' and `Nautica' brands and said it was investing close to Rs. 25 crore for its brand promotion and setting up a new manufacturing unit. He said the company would be investing about Rs. 7-8 crore on a new manufacturing unit at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh.
