Mangalore Chemicals declares dividend

MANGALORE: Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers (MCF) Ltd. has registered a profit after tax of Rs. 25.22-crore during 2005-06 against Rs. 22.31-crore in 2004-05, a growth of 13 per cent. Sales have crossed the Rs. 1,000 crore mark and stood at Rs. 1,080.60-crore against Rs. 878.02-crore, a growth of 23 per cent. The board of directors has also declared a dividend of six per cent, the first ever, after the company was taken over by the UB Group in 1990 at a time when it was incurring losses and subsequently referred to BIFR. The last time the company declared a dividend was for 1987-88.
