COLOMBO: Unidentified gunmen stormed the office of a Tamil newspaper, Uthayan, in Sri Lanka's northern Jaffna town on Tuesday evening. According to initial reports, at least two persons were killed and two others injured. "The attackers, dressed in blacks and armed with AK-47 assault rifles, stormed our office in Jaffna around 7.30 p.m. They called out for one of our correspondents. As he was not there, they opened fire indiscriminately, broke our computers and fled", N. Vithyatharan, Editor of Uthayan and its sister newspaper, Sudar Oli, told The Hindu. The two newspapers toe a Tamil nationalist line and largely reflect the views of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
