City weather turns sultry

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Though clouds broke out on the sun-scorched Hyderabad for a brief spell bringing down the temperature from its normal of 39 Degree Celsius to 36.8 Degree Celsius, south-eastern winds from the Bay of Bengal feeding moisture in the air created humid and sultry weather conditions on Tuesday.

Hyderabadis sweated it out even with relative humidity at 47 per cent.

Isolated rain

Met Department officials reported the formation of an upper air trough from Vidarbha to South Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema extending 1.5 km above the sea level due to merging of south eastern winds and the north western winds.

This led to isolated rain over Rayalseema but dry weather over coastal Andhra and Telangana.

Forecast

The forecast for Wednesday is that thunderclouds are likely to develop in the afternoon and evening and the maximum temperature is likely to be 38 Degree Celsius.
