Cash bag snatched

A motorcycle-borne person snatched away a bag containing Rs. 2 lakhs from a woman walking on the Kushaiguda main road during daytime on Tuesday.

The incident occurred when T. Vijayanirmala, 32, of Gayathrinagar, and her father E. Raghavulu, 60, who withdrew money from Andhra Bank branch near Radhika theatre, were returning home on foot.

10-year-old found dead

A fifth standard student Mohd. Fareed, 10, who went missing, was found dead in a pond near Apollo Hospital on Tuesday at Kanchanbagh. No injuries were found on his body.

Woman relieved of gold jewellery

Two persons posing as policemen relieved a woman Achyutamma, 60, of six tolas gold ornaments after diverting her attention at Saroornagar on Tuesday. They approached and persuaded her to take out the ornaments saying robbers were on the prowl, packed them in a paper and returned the packet. The woman learnt about the theft when she opened the packet and found stones inside.

Succumbs to injuries

A two-and-half-a-year-old boy, B. Mahesh Kumar, who was hit by an unidentified vehicle three days ago, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Niloufer hospital on Monday.
