BANGALORE: Director-General and Inspector-General of Police B.S. Sial on Tuesday reviewed with senior police officials the anti-naxalite measures initiated by the State police and also future strategies to check the naxalite menace. After the second meeting of the Standing Committee of Chief Ministers of Naxalite-affected States that was held in New Delhi on April 13, the Centre had sought reports from the States on anti-naxalite measures taken up by them and also the assistance they required from the Centre in this regard. In view of the report sought by the Centre, Mr. Sial reviewed the matter with top officials here on Tuesday. Mr. Sial told The Hindu that 16 specific points were discussed at the meeting, which was attended by senior officials from Anti-Naxalite Force, Anti-Terrorist Squad, Intelligence Wing, Telecommunication and Modernisation Wing among others. Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) Subash Bharani and Additional Director-General of Police (Administration) Shankar Mahadev Bidari were also present.
