HYDERABAD: M.L. Jaisimha Academy defeated SCF (Reds) by 62 runs to move into the final of the Boston Cup (U-11) cricket tournament, sponsored by Sports Coaching Foundation (Masab Tank) and organised by Boston Mission High School. Batting first, the Academy scored 98 for two with Andhrut (34) and Nikhil (30) being the main scorers. In reply, SCF was bowled out for 36 with Abhishek claiming four wickets for 12. In another match, Secunderabad Public School, electing to bat, scored 62 for one with Teja (34 not out) being the main contributor. In reply, 11 Tigers was restricted to 47 for five with Shivam (three for 12) being the main wicket-taker.
Table tennis tournament
The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad will organise a table tennis tournament at the Victory Playground from May 12 to 15. According to MCH director of sports S.R. Prem Raj, competitions will be held in different age groups. Entries close on May 8 and should be sent to APTTA's technical committee chairman P. Nagender Reddy or tournament secretary P. Pandu. Volleyball teams named
The State boys and girls' teams set to take part in the 14th mini National volleyball championship to be held in Bangalore from May 9 was named here on Tuesday. The teams: Boys: K. Harish Kumar, Sandeep, B. Mahesh, Rohan Prasad, Anwarullah, S. Muthyalu, Meerajuddin, Raju, I.S. Naidu, Anil, Ramakrishna, K. Moinuddin, Y. Sivaprasad, T. Yakaiah and Bhimesh. Girls: D. Latha, M. Saylee, M. Pragathi, S. Aparna, S. Harshini, B. Sowmya, S. Anuradha, P. Laxmi, K. Jyothi, Ch. Rajini, Ananya, Srikanya, B. Sudha and P. Ashwini.
SAAP's summer camps
Summer camps in different disciplines, organised by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, will be formally inaugurated at the Fateh Maidan Indoor Stadium on May 3 at 5:00 pm by information & public relations minister Shabbir Ali. SAAP chairman M.S. Raj Thakur will preside.
