NEW DELHI: Two persons have been arrested at Geeta Colony in East Delhi for allegedly printing pirated copies of books issued by the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The police claim to have seized 1,920 books and 900 unfinished ones worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs from them. On March 29, the police received a complaint from Vineet Joshi, Secretary CBSE, alleging that pirated copies of Sanskrit textbooks were being sold in East Delhi. On Monday, Sub-Inspector Arun Kumar received a tip-off that a bookbinder had been selling pirated NCERT/CBSE books. Subsequently, a police team mounted a raid at "Brother Book Store" in Geeta Colony and arrested Gyanchand on charges of selling pirated books. During interrogation, he allegedly revealed that he used to get those books from Daleep, a resident of Modi Nagar.
