Tanker lorries to supply drinking water

Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram: Collector N. Ayyappan, on Tuesday, directed tahsildars to get drinking water supplied in tanker lorries to the parched areas in the district.

Mr. Ayyappan was presiding over an official-level meeting to discuss the acute water scarcity in parts of the district.

He instructed the four tahsildars to submit the list of revenue villages facing the worst drought conditions.

He also directed the four divisions of the Kerala Water Authority to prepare detailed short and long-term plans to solve the problem.

The short-term plans should be completed during the drought season, he added.
