Nellai beats Classic
Nellai Youths Basketball Club, Tirunelveli beat Classic Basketball Club, Tuticorin 58-42 in the inaugural match of the second annual Karunagaran Memorial Trophy State-level basketball tournament in Tuticorin on Tuesday. Palani Vignesh and Saravana Muthukumar slotted for the winner while Rajkumar netted for Classic BC.
Ganesan, Sundar elected
S. Ganesan and D.V. Sundar were elected unanimously as President and Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Table Tennis Association for a fresh four-year term at the Association's AGM held on April 30. Easy for Customs
Surendra Das's half-century helped Customs and Central Excise score an easy win over Golden XI CC in a Tiruchi DCA first division cricket match here. The scores: Golden XI 73 in 23.4 overs (Vijayaraghavan four for 16) lost to Customs & CE 74 for two in 8.4 overs (Surendra Das 63 not out).
