KOTTAYAM : Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Syriac Joseph has underscored the role of the private sector in health dispensation activities in the State. He was inaugurating the 32nd State conference of the Qualified Private Medical Practitioners Association (QPMPA) here. He pointed out that 75 per cent of the work related to the health sector was carried out by the private sector in the State. Under the circumstances, it was imperative that the State plays the role of the facilitator to make them more effective. B. Ekbal, the former Vice-Chancellor of Kerala University, chaired the seminar on `Increasing medical expenses.' P. Radhakrishna Pillai, president, QPMPA, chaired the inaugural session.
