GURGAON: Ashok Kumar fired a course record-equalling five-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead after the opening round of the Rs. 15 lakhs TSM-Golden Greens Open golf tournament at the par-71 Golden Greens Golf and Country Club here on Tuesday. Ashok equalled the record set by amateur Joseph Chakola in February this year. Starting from the 10th tee, Ashok played the front nine at three-under with birdies coming on the 15th, 17th and 18th holes. Of that, the 25-foot putt for a birdie on the 17th was a good effort after Ashok reached the green with a two-iron, five-iron combination. The scores: Ashok Kumar 66, Arjun Singh, C. Muniyappa and S. Madhaiah 67, Rahul Ganapathy and Rafick Ali 68, Ali Sher and A.S. Lehal 69, Vivek Bhandari, Amritinder Singh and Jaiveer Virk 70, Mohammed Khokan, Mohammed Nawab, Shiraz Kalra, Gurbaaz Mann, Sujjan Singh, Naman Dawar, Basad Ali, Dinesh Kumar and Vijay Kumar 71.
