Police identify Maoists killed in encounter

`Victims are man and wife belonging to Guntur district'

    ONGOLE: The two Maoists who were killed in an encounter with the police near Peda Arutla village in Prakasam district on Sunday morning were identified on Tuesday.

    The police could surmise that the victims were man and wife and belonged to Guntur district.

    According to the police, the male victim was identified as Gade Seenu, alias Siva, alias Balu (30). He was a native of Thallapalli village in Macharla mandal and eked out his livelihood as an autorickshaw driver.

    He joined the Maoists in 2003 and worked as a member of the Guntur special guerrilla squad and later Sakhamuri Apparao Protect Squad.

    The female victim was identified as Gade Maria Kumari, alias Geetha, alias Uma (20).

    She belonged to Pulipadu of Gurajala mandal in Guntur district.

    She joined Maoists in 2004 and worked as member of the Guntur special guerrilla squad and later with Sakhamuri Apparao Protection Squad.
