No rift with TRS leaders: APCC chief

Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders urged to refrain from `objectionable' language against parties

NIZAMABAD : Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Keshava Rao has advised TRS leaders to refrain from using `objectionable' language and to have control over their `political rhetoric.'

Mr. Rao, who was here to attend a couple of private programmes on Tuesday, denied differences with TRS leaders. The TRS was launched with a single-point agenda of achieving separate State for Telanganga, he said.

"We know their stand and they are aware of our stand right from the day we entered the political alignment. They are free to talk in this democratic set up, but should have control over their language.

We are going ahead as per the party manifesto and Common Minimum Programme," he said.

With regard to possible disciplinary action against Congress MLA -- P. Janardhan Reddy and M. Sashidhar Reddy -- for criticising the State Government over the GO 610 and the Pothireddypadu head regulator issues, he said expressing opinions over public issues did not amount to dissent.

The APCC chief said the party fulfilled almost all the promises made to people in the elections within just two years of its rule. Therefore, it was planning to celebrate its victory by conducting a rededicated meet (plenary) at Lal Bahadur Stadium on May 14. About 23,000 party leaders and elected representatives were expected to attend it.
