On April 25, Assam Rifles, on the instructions of the Imphal Bench of the Gauhati High Court, handed over Heikrujam and Sagolsem, along with one carbine, one 9 mm pistol and some ammunition, at the Heingang police station. Both were detained and investigations held.
AnAssam Rifles report said Heikrujam was a member of the United National Liberation Front and Sagolsem, of the Revolutionary People's Front.
