Heat wave claims three lives

LUCKNOW: At least three people were reported dead in Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours due to intense heat wave conditions.

The deaths were reported from Mahoba, Hamirpur and Agra districts. So far, seven people have died of heat wave in the State since the onset of summer.

According to the Meteorological office, Kanpur, Jhansi and Allahabad recorded the maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius.

However, the mercury remained below normal levels in Gorakhpur and Varanasi divisions.

The weather remained mainly dry in the last 24 hours, the weatherman said. Inhabitants of the Bundelkhand region are facing a lot of hardship due to heat wave and water bodies going dry.
