NEW DELHI: All five accused in the case of alleged gang-rape of an 18-year-old girl at Malkaganj in North Delhi on Monday have been sent to judicial custody. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Delhi) Sunil Garg said on Thursday that the accused had been sent to jail after being produced in the court. He said it would now be up to the court to decide whether they should be examined medically to ascertain their age. On Wednesday the police had said that some of the accused could be minors. According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered in the case, the incident took place on Monday when the victim had gone to buy medicine for a stomachache. "Three young men standing near the pharmacy beckoned me," alleged the girl. The three allegedly took her to a first-floor rented accommodation on some pretext and criminally assaulted her. They then took her to a park in a rickshaw, where two of their friends allegedly assaulted her. The accused then got her dropped at Karol Bagh in a rickshaw on Tuesday morning.
