Letters to the Editor
Naushad Ali, the doyen of Indian film music, is no more. His classical music-based compositions have over a span of six decades and more mesmerised generations of Indian music-lovers in scores of films. The songs he created in Anmol Ghadi, Aan, Mughal-e-Azam, Udan Khatola, Aadmi, Baiju Bawra, Mother India, Pakeezah, and several other films will remain etched in the minds of his countless fans forever. Naushad was a symbol of Indian composite culture, a true colossus. May his soul rest in peace.
