ICF derails Indian Bank

TUTICORIN: Integral Coach Factory, Chennai beat the defending champion, Indian Bank, Chennai 63-50 in the semi-final round robin league of the second annual Karunagaran Memorial trophy state-level open basketball tournament organised jointly by TBA Club and Tuticorin District Basketball Association here on Friday.

In another match, Indian Overseas Bank, Chennai beat Southern Railway, Chennai 68-37.

The results (Men's league): ICF Chennai 63 (Ashwin 22, Poobalan 10, Vinothkumar 15) bt Indian Bank 50 (Javeed Khan 12); Indian Overseas Bank 68 (John D. Platto 20, Chandrasekar 10) bt Southern Railway 37.

Quarterfinals: Indian Bank 36 (Thangavelu 13, Javeed Khan 10) bt Caldwell BC Tuticorin 22 (Mari Selvam 12); ICF Chennai 85 (Ashwin 24, Sikkander Oli Raja 15) bt BSNL Chennai (Gnanavel 29, Saravanan 13, Janakirama Reddy 12); Indian Overseas Bank 85 (John D.Platto 30, Subramaniam 21) bt SDAT Sports Hostel of Excellence Chennai 62 (Puvia Rajan 12, Karthik 23); Southern Railway 56 (Saravanarajan 18, Sivasankar 10).
