Speaker serves notice on JD(S) MLAs

BANGALORE:
The issue of action against the Janata Dal (Secular) MLAs who sided with Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and brought about the fall of the previous government has been revived, although the party's President H.D. Deve Gowda has reconciled himself to the coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Legislative Assembly Speaker Krishna has issued show-cause notices to those MLAs and sought their explanation within one month.
Mr. Krishna told presspersons here on Friday that the legislators had sought three months to reply to the notice. Based on the explanation, he would decide the future course of action, Mr. Krishna said.
