Rahul Gandhi ordered to leave Rae Bareli

Rae Bareli: The Election Commission on Friday issued notice to those having official security, including Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi, to leave the Rae Bareli constituency by 5 p.m. on Saturday.However, Priyanka Vadra, younger sister of Mr. Rahul and an SPG protectee, will stay here, as she is the election agent of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Campaigning here ends by 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Commission also directed all the candidates in the fray for the May 8 byelection, including Ms. Gandhi, BJP's Vinay Katiyar and SP's Rajkumar Choudhary to remove all posters and banners by midnight of Friday. — UNI
