TUTICORIN: Southern Railway (Chennai) lifted the Shadhiram and Sons Trophy defeating S.R.M. Rising Star, Chennai, 69-39 for its third win in the last match of the four-team super-league in women's section in the second annual state-level basketball tournament organised jointly by TBA Club and Tuticorin District Basketball Association here on Saturday. SRMRSC, which lost only to Southern Railway, finished runner-up. In the men's section, Indian Overseas Bank, Chennai, recorded its second win with a 66-48 victory over defending champion, Indian bank in the semifinal round-robin league. The results: Men (Semifinal league): Southern Railway 78 (Saravana Raja 18, Jeyaprakash 12, Bernard Philip 13) bt ICF 72 (Sikander Oli Raja 22, Bhubalan 13). IOB Chennai 66 (Mehu Pandey 25, Robinson 14) bt Indian Bank 48 (Thangadurai 13). Women (Super league): Southern Railway 69 (Geetu Anu Jose 14, Shyamala 14, Anitha 16) bt SRM Rising Star 39 (Anusha 11, Sangeetha 10). Southern Railway 63 (Geetha Anu Jose 30, Anitha 11) bt Nirmala BC Coimbatore 32 (Divya 17). SRM Rising Star 55 (Kokila 20, Lakshmibai 14) bt SAI BC Salem 18; Southern Railway 72 (Geethu Anu Jose 19, Anitha 18) bt SAI BC Salem 19 (Sangeetha 10); SRM Rising Star 41 (Kokila 17) bt Nirmalax B.C 27 (Divya 14).
