Minorities forum to support AIADMK
The forum decided to support the AIADMK due to the good record of the present government in issues such as communal harmony, maintenance of law and order and the effective implementation of welfare programmes, Sarah Chanda, chairperson of the coalition, told reporters. The Government's handling of the anti-conversion law issue was another reason for the support, she added. The interests of religious minorities had been hijacked by religious leaders who had made them into a vote bank, Beatrix D'Souza, former MLA said. Meanwhile, another minorities forum, The Anglo-Indian Association of Southern India, has pledged its support to the DMK-led DPA. The decision was taken as the DPA government would be "minority friendly and responsive to problems of minorities,'' G.K. Francis, the association's honorary president-in-chief, said in a release here. Special Correspondent
