BANGALORE: They are promoting a "lifestyle that is unlimited." Post-Lakshmi Mittal's grand wedding ceremony of his daughter and all the paraphernalia that came with it, people who want to do it in style and with some money to spare for it are looking at conducting lavish weddings (and splurge parties) in exotic locations which would be remembered for many years to come. For those who want to go that extra mile in over-indulgence, Velvet Spell offers you innovative ideas for making an occasion memorable and all the accoutrements that come with converting these ideas into reality. This start-up company, which has its base in Singapore, has been founded by a Bangalorean, Sabitha Harinath, and Mhonchumi from Nagaland, and cashes in on the upward trend of more and more Indians going abroad for conducting not just lavish weddings, but theme parties, get-togethers, college reunions and even kitty parties. The company specialises in arranging customised wedding ceremonies and other events connected to a marriage such as reception, "mehendi" in Singapore, for people in India. "This is a new concept and not many people are doing what we are offering. We take the wedding party (or any other group depending on the event) to Singapore and plan all the events for them based on their needs. It could be traditional or theme-based but whatever it is we make sure that our clients have a good time," says Sabitha, who was in Bangalore to promote the concept here. A former member of the Singapore Airlines cabin crew, Sabitha says that most people who want a lavish wedding have no qualms about spending on tailor-made events that will make an impact on their guests. Velvet Spell has tied up with various vendors, including Singapore Airlines, hotels and resorts and travel agents, to make the event memorable for their clients.
