KANNUR: Gramin banks have been urged to introduce pension scheme for their staff. Inaugurating the 22nd conference of the North Malabar Gramin Bank Employees' Union (NMGBEU) here on Sunday, All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) State secretary N.S. Raveendranath demanded that the pension scheme be introduced to cover the employees in the gramin banks. Union president P.V. Hari presided over the function. A.C. Madhavan (AIBEA), E.A.V. Namboodiri (All India Bank Officers' Union), A.N. Balasubramanyan (Canara Bank Employees' Union) were among those present at the conference. P.V. Hari (president), V. Balaram (general secretary) and A. Haridas (treasurer) are the new office-bearers elected at the meet.
