Michael Hayden Washington: U.S. President Bush has nominated Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden to lead the embattled CIA in what is largely seen as a controversial decision. ``He's the right man to lead the CIA at this critical moment,'' Mr. Bush said. If confirmed by the Senate, Gen. Hayden would replace Porter Goss, who resigned on Friday under a cloud of differences with the intelligence czar Negroponte. Congressmen and Senators have voiced their objections about a military officer taking over the helm of affairs of the civilian spy agency. National Security Adviser Stephen J Hadley defended the selection saying he is the best man for the job. UNI
