CHENNAI: With just over a week to go for the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE), Connexions Book Store organised a lecture as part of its customer service programme by Dr. P.V. Navaneethakrishnan. He said that graduating from the interview system for 30 marks, the examinations had evolved to machine evaluated answer sheets to avoid human error, when it was decided to hold it immediately after the board examinations. "The idea was then not to give a number of passes to students, but reject a number of students," he said. For students preparing for the examinations, his advice was that they concentrate on the State Board Std. XII syllabus and study every line deeply. "When you see a line, think of a question for which the sentence will be the answer," he said, exhorting the students to raise themselves to the level of examiners, even as they prepare for the examinations. He said that more than just memorising the formulae, it calls for a thorough understanding of the subject. This year, the questions will be from the new enriched syllabus, he said, answering questions from students at the end of the talk. P.S. Seshadri, Manager, Connexions Book Store, Anna Nagar, also spoke.
