All-party meet on ORR urged

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The city committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Monday asked HUDA Vice-Chairman Jayesh Ranjan to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the pros and cons of the Outer Ring Road Growth Corridor project.

In a letter addressed to the Vice-Chairman on Monday, CPI(M) city secretary P. S. N. Murthy said the project should be taken up only after discussing it with political parties. He said hundreds of villagers had raised objections to the comprehensive plan prepared by the HUDA for areas falling within 1 km on either side of the ring road and special development regulations to promote the development activities in these areas.

Mr. Murthy asked the HUDA to regularise the layouts, which were approved in some village panchayats, keeping in view the problems being faced by villagers.
