Avoidable deaths

All three seasons — monsoon, winter and summer — claim lives. Deaths due to floods, heat wave, and cold wave always result in noise and outrage being expressed but governments take no appropriate measures in advance. The deaths are natural consequences of felling trees and disturbing ecological balance. Proper damming of rivers is not done due to petty inter-State quarrels and political considerations. Unless something is done to curb such abuse of nature, we will continue to suffer loss of lives.
