NEW DELHI: Heptathletes Soma Biswas and Susmita Singha Roy are leaving for Desenzano, Italy, on Wednesday to participate in the IAAF World Combined Events Challenge meet there on May 13 and 14. Coach Kuntal Roy, who is accompanying his wards, said that the girls were scheduled to compete in another Combined Events Challenge meet at Arles, France on June 3 and 4. Dr. Roy said that he had plans to enter his trainees in the Finland championship in August before they figured in the final trials at home in preparation for the Asian Games at Doha in December. Soma and Susmita are also expected to compete in a few individual events in the Asian Grand Prix meet at Bangalore on May 22.
