Mona Pruthi tops Civil Services exam

NEW DELHI:
Indian Revenue Service officer Mona Pruthi has topped this year's Civil Services (Main) Examination, the results of which were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) here on Monday.
For Ms. Pruthi, an English graduate from Delhi University's Lady Shri Ram College, this was the third attempt at the Civil Services Examination. Another Delhi girl, Archana Nair, made it to the seventh rank in her very first attempt.
The other four candidates who made it to the top five are Gurneet Tej, Randhir Kumar, J. Ganesan and Zuhair Bin Saghir. In all, 425 candidates have been selected for the Indian Civil Services (Main), with six girls making it to the top 20.
A total of 210 candidates, including six physically challenged persons, have been selected from the general category.
