Dry weather likely in coastal T.N.

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at many places over Kerala, at a few places over south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rayalaseema, coastal and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:

Uthamapalayam (Theni dt.) and Ilayankudi (Sivagangai dt.), Kudligi and Hagaribommanahalli (both Bellary dt.), Kozha (Kottayam dt.) 5 each, Tumkur 4, Hyderabad Airport, Ananthapur, Perinthalamanna (Malapuram dt.), Kumarakom (Kottayam dt.), Chalakudy and Kunnamkulam (both Thrissur dt.), Nargund (Gadag dt.), Jayapura (Chickmagalur dt.) and Bellary 3 each, Sivakasi (Virudhunagar dt.), Dindigul (Renga Reddy dt.), Holalkere (Chitradurga dt.) and Chitradurga 2 each and Srivilliputtur (Virudhunagar dt.), Yercaud, CIAL Kochi, Perumbavoor (Ernakulam dt.), Punalur, Cherthala (Thrissur dt.), Ottapalam (Palakkad dt.), Belgaum Airport, Dharwad, Hubli, Munirabad (Koppal dt.), Baghewadi (Bijapur dt.), Mudigere and Tarikere (both Chickmagalur dt.), Kottur (Bellary dt.), Pavagada and Sira (both Tumkur dt.) 1 each.

Forecast (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over interior Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
