`Job guarantee scheme tardy'

KADAPA: The Andhra Pradesh Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme is being nominally implemented in Kadapa district and officials were not providing work to labourers, who were forced to migrate for want of work, A.P. Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham leaders alleged on Tuesday.

Workers complained that their wages were yet to be deposited in their accounts in banks or post offices, though they had been working for a fortnight, they said.

Workers were not provided tools and lacked medicare when they sustained bruises and cuts.
