MANGALORE: The Bajpe police have arrested three persons in connection with a case of robbery committed on Saturday. According to a press release from Superintendent of Police B. Dayananda here on Tuesday, the police recovered a gold chain estimated at Rs. 20,000 and a motorcycle that was used by the accused for committing the crime. On Saturday, two persons riding a motorcycle went to Suvarni of Malali near Narala Bus Stand at Mogaru asking for an address and fled after snatching her chain, but dropped their mobile handset. Suvarni used the handset to lodge a complaint. The police swung into action and with the help of the numbers stored in the mobile phone, traced the accused at Yekkur. The police found Rs. 17,200 and a receipt in the name of a finance company. The police went to the finance company at Bendoor Well and recovered a stolen gold chain pledged with it by the accused for Rs. 18,600 on the day of committing the offence. The police arrested Alphonse Rodrigues, proprietor of the finance company. The police gave the names of the accused as Mitradas and Harish Kumar of Bajal.
