Pravin Mahajan allowed home food in jail
Mumbai:
A local court on Tuesday allowed Pravin Mahajan, held on charges of murdering his elder brother and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan, to have home food delivered to him in jail. Magistrate R.T. Badge also reserved order till Wednesday on his plea for the return of his car that was seized by police.
Pravin's advocate Nandkumar Rajurkar submitted that police had seized the "Maruti Swift" car of his client and sought that the vehicle be returned to his family as it was not used in the crime.
On the last occasion when Pravin was being remanded to custody, he had himself pleaded before the court to direct the police to return the car, but the Magistrate had asked him to make an application to this effect.
Prosecution opposed Pravin's plea for return of the car, saying investigations were underway. PTI
