Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
Armed men robbed two employees of a wholesale liquor depot of Rs. 6 lakh at gunpoint in Fraser Town police station limits on Monday afternoon.
Police said Manjunath and Vijay Kumar, cashiers of a wholesale liquor depot, were going to a bank on Wheelers Road to deposit Rs. 6 lakh in cash.
Around 2 p.m. two men, who came on a motorcycle, waylaid the two employees, who were riding a two-wheeler in Cook Town.
They pointed a pistol at the two and stabbed Vijay Kumar on the back and snatched a bag containing the cash and a cheque of Rs. 7 lakh, the police said.
The police suspect that the robbers had kept a close watch on the movements of the two employees before robbing them. The Fraser Town police have registered a case and are investigating.
