In protest against proposed pension Bill

LABOUR PROTEST: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh vice-president C.K. Saji Narayanan inaugurating a dharna organised by the sangh against the proposed Pension Fund Regulatory Bill in the city on Tuesday.

KOCHI: The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) on Tuesday organised a dharna against the Centre's proposed move to introduce the Pension Fund Regulatory Bill, which is expected to come up in the forthcoming Parliament session. C.K. Saji Narayanan, BMS vice-president, inaugurated the dharna held at Boat Jetty. He said the Government's decision to recover a fixed amount from the employees salary towards pension fund will affect the pensioners in the country.

According to the proposed pension rules, pension fund managing companies can invest this fund in stocks and other market variables. This will have an adverse impact on the security of the pensioners' fund.

The BMS urged the Government to withdraw the proposed Bill to protect the interest of lakhs of pensioners.
