Iyer opens `Janaseva' office

KOCHI: The State office of the Janaseva Sisu Bhavan Snehaveedu was inaugurated here on Tuesday by V.R. Krishna Iyer, former Judge of the Supreme Court.

The Snehaveedu aims at eradicating child beggary in the State. Mr. Krishna Iyer lauded the role played by the Sisu Bhavan in protecting street children.

Kaviyoor Ponnamma, cine actor, led the pledge-taking function to protect street children. A 24-hour telephone (no: 2603379) would function to rescue street children, Sisu Bhavan president Jose Maveli said.
