KOCHI: The Pratyasa Foundation is organising a social wedding of 50 physically challenged persons at the Ernakulam Town Hall on May 25. The Foundation has been striving for the betterment of physically challenged persons. The Foundation had organised a pre-marriage meet at the Town Hall on December 3. The participants at the meet included persons who were blind, deaf and mentally ill. Over 100 persons were able to find their life-mate at the meet. Of them, 50 were from poor sections of society, a press release said . It is their weddings that will be held on May 25. The weddings will be held as per the rites of their community and will be registered on the same day. A pre-marriage course has been arranged to prepare them for married life. Steps are also being taken to arrange jobs for the people. Every three months, get-togethers will be organised to help them solve their problems. On May 25 evening, an orchestra group comprising physically challenged persons will be given shape to, by selecting those with a taste for arts and culture.
