KOCHI : Entries have been invited from journalists for the Chowara Parameswaran Award instituted by the Kerala Press Akademi. The award will be given to interesting reports published in connection with the Assembly polls. — Staff Reporter

Passports issued

KOCHI : The Regional Passport Office, Kochi, has processed and issued passports for applications received till March 24, 2006, for which police verification is over. The passports have been despatched in the week ending May 5, the Regional Passport Officer has said. — Staff Reporter

First-aid training

KOCHI : The Kochi City Action Force is conducting the next batch of training programme on trauma care and first aid on May 14 at the SNLP School, Tiruvankulam.
