Girls save owl

Aizawl: Two schoolgirls in Mizoram pooled their pocket money to rescue an owl from poachers and handed it over to an animal rights activist here.

According to Peoples' Animal Group (PAG) activist C. Luri, when the high school students, Lalrin Pui and Zorampari, heard that a barn owl had been trapped and put up for sale in the local market, they bought and brought it to her. "When I tried to repay them, they did not accept," she said. — UNI
