Mankind Pharma, a fast-growing domestic pharmaceutical company, is targetting revenue in excess of Rs. 500 crore during the current financial year in tune with its plans to become a Rs. 1,000-crore company by 2010. The company is setting up two new state-of-the-art facilities for its manufacturing and R&D activities for expanding its market share in the domestic pharma space. It has decided to invest Rs. 70 crore for its expansion plans, including launching its third marketing division Lifestar in Andhra Pradesh by the year-end. One of the new facilities being set up at Poanta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh will have a production capacity of 30 million ampoules and 30 million vials, while the second at Gurgaon will have capabilities in formulations, new drug delivery and bio-equivalence studies.
