Isolated rain likely in interior T.N.

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and interior Karnataka isolated rainfall occurred over interior Tamil Nadu. Dry weather prevailed over coastal Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are:

Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram dt) 6, Tavarakera (Koppal dt) 5, Hassan 4, Bangalore Airport 3, Valparai and Bangalore 2 each and Vaniyambadi (Vellore dt), Kozhikode Airport, Perinthalamanna (Malapuram dt), Gulbarga, Yelburga (Koppal dt), Mysore and Chikmagalur 1 each.

On Tuesday, the maximum temperature rose at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, fell appreciably to markedly at one or two places over Kerala, Rayalaseema, fell at one or two places over Telangana, south interior Karnataka and changed little elsewhere over the region.

Forecast (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over interior Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Forecast for Chennai City and Neighbourhood (valid until Friday morning): Partly cloudy. Maximum temperature will be around 37 degree celsius.
